Photo Academica is the first photo contest organized with the very establishment of the Academy of Photography and from its very first edition has 2 sections: for young people under 18 and all the rest.
The youth section is the only photo contest in the country addressing the beginners in photography. With the introduction of prizes, provided by the Ministry of Culture in the form of annual grants, the interest to the contest is enjoying considerable interest.
This year 70 young people joined the event. Nine of them won the prestigious prize. Moreover, this contest was the base to select the Bulgarian collection, which won the silver medal for Bulgaria at the 39th YOUTH DIGITAL BIENNIAL 2018 under the patronage of FIAP.
We are happy to present to the audience of UniCredit Bulbank, which for years on end has been the official bank of the Month of Photography Festival, the nine awarded by the Ministry of Culture frames at UniCredit Studio, the renovated space for young and independent artists in the heart of our capital.
