Portals
I am looking at the billboards, present in the city landscape, as portals to past times and values. I am searching for the at-times absurd link between masterpieces from art history and the tiresome daily routine. With the feeling of irony I am posing myself the question if would it be possible for famous paintings placed amid the visual environment of the city to take the passerby away from his stupor of a consumer or to be interpreted as yet another advertising campaign.
In my works have been used reproductions of paintings by: Michelangelo Buonaroti, Sandro Botticelli, Diego Velázquez, Gustave Courbet, John Maler Collier, Leonardo da Vinci, Giorgio de Chirico, Vincent Van Gogh, Ilya Repin, Sandro Botticelli, Edvard Munch and Gustave Caillebotte.
