International Photographic Salon Varna is an important photographic event in Bulgaria, honored with 4-star rating by FIAP.
The initiative began in 2003 in Varna as a forum for Bulgarian photographic art amateurs and professionals, in 2007 Photographic Salon Varna became an international event since photographers from around the world started joining the annual contests.
Last year the salon gathered over 500 participants from 54 countries, who sent more than 4,000 pieces of photographic art for the 2012 contest! On our website www.fotosalonvarna.org you may follow Salon’s development through the years.
International Photographic Salon Varna is not a themed contest, participants could apply with a photograph of their own choice, without being constrained by predetermined topic. At the same time, participants’ artworks would be classified in three categories (Monochrome photography, Color Photography and Computer Processed Photography), extending the range of the participants according to their shooting preferences.
The awarded photographers would receive a FIAP medal (gold, silver and bronze). Each participant in the Salon will receive high quality printed catalog, FIAP Honorary Diploma, PSV Honorary Diploma, Photographic Salon Honorary Diploma.
On June 27th 2013 an exhibition which would showcase all selected and awarded photographs would be open for public in the City Art Gallery in Varna.
On August 5th 2013, an open-air exhibition would be arranged at Varna Sea Garden Entrance, available for anyone 24/7, with no opening hours limitation and entrance fees.
Contemporary photography is extremely affordable, everyone is able to capture unique moments, that is why the open-air exhibition would be interesting for everybody who has ever touched a camera, providing the opportunity to improve their own creative expressions.
