A winter’s evening, cold and windy. Two street musicians are playing to the blurry throng of passers-by, unheard. And then, a man stops and listens for a moment, before moving on. The musicians don’t even notice him. But the street photographer does. Snap!
Life matters and the street is where it happens. Scouring the London pavements, watching, seeing, registering the lights and sounds of the city, has been our favourite pastime for the past year or so. Street photography is documentary, but it is also interpretative. It motivates us to understand and appreciate more of the city we live in, in order to then paint a composite picture of it.
