Eli Yonova was born in Sofia. She lives and works in Canada as film director of photography and photographer. Eli graduated from the National Professional High School of Polygraphy and Photography in Sofia and later – from the Moscow Institute of Cinematography. In the course of her over 25-year career she has worked as director of photography for European, American and Canadian producers of feature, documentary and TV films. Works with her contribution have been awarded at national and international festivals. Photography is her first love, to which she remains faithful. Besides her diverse archive which she has collected in the course of her work worldwide, Eli gradually formed her own unique style creating abstract works and shooting mainly glass, water, reflective surfaces, masterfully lighted and arranged. Since her first individual exhibition in 2006, she has successfully displayed her works in galleries in Bulgaria and abroad. Her images are treasured possession of private and public collections.
