Shapes of Light and Smoke
The idea of Slavina’s project results from her interest in the way the spectators perceive photography. Each author imparts himself, his emotions and ideas to his works, and the spectator re-creates them in his own unique way. The free and unintentional themes of the abstract forms of smoke and light are a free space for spectator’s re-creation. The graphic impact of the pictures results from different light schemes (light painting, Rear/ Front Curtain Sync, Slow Sync Flash). These shapes of smoke and light are a project of author’s imagination, which calls us to find the magic of the moment, in which the true perception emerges, the moment in which author and spectator unite.
Slavina Bakhchevanova has been engaged in photography for a relatively short time, but already has taken part in several Photo-Forum exhibitions. In 2011 her photo has been chosen by National Geografic editors in Photo Contest 2011, category People, and in 2012 she published in „Photo Inspiration: Secrets Behind Stunning Images“ by 1x. As she says, photography is neither a mere hobby for her, nor she intends to make her living with it – it is just a way to explore the world and to re-create it.
