The Shadows of Mo-Ti
We see only the reflections and shadows of the surrounding material world“, said around 2500 years ago the Chinese philosopher Mo Ti. What we have seen, isn’t it just ideas (eidos – likeness, image), sealed like „shadow’s“ messages from our ancestors? How it’s possible dead matter, created by people, to impress, spell or disgust us? Painting, sculpture or architecture, weren’t they the only essence of shadows and reflections of their creators, materialized projection of the individual soul?
