Still, not Tumbling Pebbles

‘Still, not tumbling pebbles’ It happens that, the opening of the exhibition ‘Still, not tumbling pebbles’ coincide with the the opening of the forum ‘Rio + 20′ Politicians; economists and financiers are met there and are speaking of sustainable development, ballanced economy and the future of the human being. I am not sure are they going to take the right decisions, thank’s God, but I am an optimist.

If they do not reach the consensus, we are going to wait for for ‘Rio + 40′, if there is such a thing and if the humans exist … Well, I am not a politician, not a financier, or an economist, I am a photographer and my opinion about it can express with the objects I shot. The exhibition is a presentable part of the project ‘Rock paintings’, which one I have started 2010.

The subject of the project is a glimpse to the things around us, and as we do not see them. During the evolution of the human beings, in the start of the civilization itself, just set on the ground from the trees we touched the rocks, pebbles and stones. We used them as a weapon and as razor. This era we named the Stone age. The nowadays period is called Industrial and is maybe the last period of the existance of the human beings.

23:22 If we continue to be that much unreliable, the next age is going to be again the Stone age. Today we are in front of a choice. Today we choose wether we go back to the nature and to save it for our children or to follow the principe “The floud is following us’. And this choice depends of everyone of us. We stay very close to this choice, so soon. And I have a proposal to do a thing just before you make your choice and make your decision.

Go to a walk downtown after a rain and take in your hand the first pebble which appear in front of you. Observe it closely. Squeeze it in your palm and hold it for a while. At first it is going to be cold, but is going to take your heat and hold it itself. It is going to become cosy to touch it. Just at that very moment when both your temperature and it’s temperatures equalize take your decision and make your choice. You are going to understand it just at the moment. If you throw out the pebble it is going to be a thing, if you leave it as a dear memory it is going to be another thing.

Have a nice trip in my stone garden and be careful. Some of the stones are wet and slippery.
