Canon: Photo of the year
he work of the jury of “Photo of the year – Bulgaria 2011” was accomplished.
The official opening of the Exhibition of the contest and the announcement of prizes will be held on June 19, 2012 at 18:30 h at the National Art Gallery. The 10th edition of the national photo competition “Photo of the year – Bulgaria 2011”, organized by Canon Bulgaria, featured the participation of 220 authors with over 1900 works. The Jury members: Ivo Hadzhimishev (Chairman), Maxim Minchev, Georgi Lozanov, Veneta Zaharieva, Boris Danailov, Stanka Zheleva and Yavor Popov, selected about 180 works to be exhibited in the National Art Gallery in the period June 19 – July 10 2012. The jury nominated the following works in the respective sections: “Fine Art Photography” section – Samuil Velichkov, Radomira Perukova and Desislav Lilkov; “Photo Essay” section – Dimitar Varyiski, Vasil Donev and Felia Baruch; “Reportage Photography” section – Bozhanka Markova, Borislav Toshev and Atanas Kanev. The opening of the Canon contest Exhibition “Photo of the year – Bulgaria 2011” had been cancelled due to reconstruction of the National Art Gallery. We will be pleased to welcome you on June 19th in the renovated exhibition halls of the National Art Gallery. The National Art Gallery and Canon-Bulgaria organize the national Photo of the year contest to give an impetus to photography as art and to establish environment to enrich the fund of the Gallery with modern Bulgarian photography works. Canon-Bulgaria is sole proprietorship of Canon CEE GmbH seated in Vienna, Austria and is a member of Canon Group, established and managed by Canon Inc., Tokyo, Japan. The entity carries out the trade policy of the corporation in Bulgaria.
