The Rhodopes are a holy mountain. It bears soul, history and time. In the heart of this mountain is situated Smolyan, one of the few towns with extraordinary architecture and nature. The Rhodopes are a place where part of the culture and history of Smolyan is concentrated. It is no chance that the cultural institutions in our town are in the center of the spirit of the mountain. Art gallery – Smolyan is a part of this spirit. Its exposition proves the high criteria , according to which the works of art were selected.

The exposition in the gallery is presented by a large number of Bulgarian and foreign authors, who took part in lots of plain-airs. Our foreign collection is being enriched by new donations.

So, if Bulgaria is proud with its history and culture, surely we can put in the centre of this culture our beloved Art gallery – institution, that not only stores and preserves the works of art but also educates the new generation.
