Studio, photo club 8th Art

Photo club „8th Art“ is created by a group of enthusiastic photographers at the end of 2009 as an informal organization working for the promotion of the art of photography through exhibitions, workshops, seminars and competitions. Early in 2010 the club organized its first photography workshop during Todorov Den in the village of Bistrica in Dupnitsa that ended with an exhibition in the town of Dupnitsa.

After that follow the first sessions for wild life photography in the conservation center of BSPB in the town of Madzharovo and at Lake Kerkini in neighboring Greece; the first photography workshop of the project „The Forgotten Rhodopes“, that ended with an exhibition in Sofia in late 2010; the workshops „Madzharovo – Vultures’ Volcano“, „Free riders“, „Pentaxians in the Golden City“, conducted jointly with Pentax Fan Club, and others.
In 2011 „8th Art“ organized the workshop „Dedolight – different light“ that was the reason for the world famous Polish photographer Marek Charnetski to come for the first time in Bulgaria as a lecturer, as well as the thematic workshops „Kerkini – the kingdom of flamingos and pelicans“, „Architectural photography“ in the town of Veliko Tarnovo and „Laughter in front of the camera“ during the Festival of Humour and Satire in Gabrovo and AHR Bozhentsi, that finished with an exhibition of 60 photographs on the theme „Humorous photography and joke stories from Gabrovo“.
The club cooperates with famous Bulgarian photographers who participate as lecturers at club events. Among them are Prof. Peter Abadjiev, Todor Yankov photo artist, Gencho Petkov photo artist, Temelko Temelkov and many others.
On May 11, 2011 a judicial decision was published that photo club „8th Art“ is now officially a legal Association Photo club „8th Art“, whose activities include the implementation of projects in the field of contemporary photographic art in order to develop its local, national and global levels.
Photo club „8th Art“ organized a series of events within the second edition of Month of photography, organized by Academy of Photography Bulgaria Yanka Kyurkchieva such as The Master Class of Marek Charnetski, The workshop „Stock Photography“, the „Mountain Landscape“ workshop and others.
