Ruse Art gallery was founded on April 30, 1933.

In the course of years it had been housed by the "Art and Printing House", in Ruse Library Halls and the Dramatic Theatre Building. Since 1979 it has been situated in the specially built edifice at 39 Borisova Str. The Gallery has a permanent exhibition of Bulgarian Art since late 19th Century till present and hosts visiting exhibitions of Bulgarian and foreign artists.
