In the beginning of July, the master of underwater photography Mihail Zaimov once again will be a guest-exhibitor at the Museum Gallery of Modern Art. In his 4th solo exhibition the passionate photographer and underwater explorer will share his new impressions, shot during his travels to the Galápagos Archipelago and the Red Sea coast of Sudan. For the 1st time the marvels of the underwater depths will be accompanied by the surrounding seascapes.

Mihail Zaimov's photographs stand out for the artist's emblematic fine aesthetic approach and ingenious findings. The photographer reveals astonishing sights to the viewer's imagination. The photos' bright colors are a real challenge for our senses tuned to "penetrate" into the artist's world.
Mihail Zaimov successfully transforms his experience of "floating underwater" into creative art behavior. His art is an exclusive event, always unpredictable and unique. Photography makes the moment a real long lasting experience. His documentary photography captures the moment and locks it into personal experience. The instinct follows the idea… the photographer selects and analyses the surrounding reality…. looking for a special moment to interpret…and finally captures it with his camera! The underwater world is presented as a system of signs, where the viewer is expected to read them, not just to see them. The water itself is not just a surrounding for the flora and fauna. The language of the water draws fine subtle lines that touch the viewer in a magnetic way. The photographer's professional camera manages to turn the simple fish into a hieroglyph – a key to the secrets hidden in the debts of the exotic seas. Mihail Zaimovs' photos give us real reasons to stay silent when looking at them. His photos can be moving and touching as the dazzling beauty of the pink coral. Yet they can also be as trivial as the bicycles overrun by seaweed or the bottles disposed in the sea. Corals and underwater shelves float around in zero gravity dances. The artist's approach when capturing these moments is gentle and kind, the same as the act of taking pictures described in "Short history of photography" by Benjamin. That is how the images in the photos always turn into unique piece of art.
