Studio for author’s lamps: "Playing With Lights and Shapes"
Artist Nikolay Tabakov will lead this workshop for self-made photogenic lamp.
The Theme:
Everyone could construct a lighting fixture, have some fun and diversify their interior by themselves in just a couple of hours. Everything is provided: metal construction, paper, glues, cables, light bulbs… This means that you could come with empty hands and leave with a glowing smiling lamp.
The lecturer:
Nikolay Tabakov is a multi-talented artist. Other than being a painter, he is a musician playing percussions in the Blues Traffic band.
"A few years ago I was working in a store selling traditional Moroccan lamps made of leather and metal. I told myself I could make something similar. So, I bought wire, took an electric welding machine, started welding… and it worked. My first lamp was rather shapeless which I found absolutely charming – it started as a square from the bottom and finished as a circle at the top. Maybe this was what has inspired me to continue making other lamps. Playing with lights and shapes entertains me."
"I will be glad if my lamps fill your everyday life with just a little warm light, and our music brings tranquility and joyfulness to your life."
