Stanislava Georgieva was born in 1981 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Since 2002 till present has lived and worked in New York. In 2010 she graduated from the Fine Arts Bachelor's Program, Photography major, at the School of Visual Arts, New York. Her projects in the area of photography feature "Theaters of Victims: Strip Clubs in America", "The Unknown Me to You", "The Past in the Present". In general, the themes on which she works concern the duplicity of immigrant's life viewing everyday life through its social aspects examined externally and internally, physically and psychologically.
In March 2010 Stanislava Georgieva made her debut with a cycle of portraits of Bulgarian single men living in New York at the Mentor Exhibition at Visual Arts Gallery, Chelsea. Her patron is Daniel Power of the book and photography publishing "Power House Books". The project, called "Nomads", was published in the "FotoVisura" magazine and won the New York Photo Award for the best project in the students' category. In the summer of 2010 she signed a contract with WIN-Initiative – boutique stock Agency in New York, which in September 2010 organized an individual exhibition for her in Soho. The exhibition enjoyed great success.
Stanislava Georgieva has won numerous awards, among which the Rhodes Family Award for Outstanding Achievement in Photography and Robin Forbes Memorial Award. She was nominated to Tierney Fellowship in Photography.
